The important stuff is Wright's three-chapter essay on pitching; there are also fine essays on Joe Morgan and Honus Wagner. Not entirely sure the Tom House material is helpful, but I'd like to see a similar book by that author.

 good, though, and an important sabermetric standard. Fewer numbers in here than in Bill James or Pete Palmer, but the perspective is much like James'.
