Description

Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe's easy-to-use, flexible version of its powerful Photoshop software, opens the door for amateur photographers, business users, and home hobbyists who want to create and edit digital images. Photoshop Elements for Windows and Macintosh: Visual QuickStart Guide uses task-based lessons to show readers the ropes in using Photoshop Elements to capture photos, correct color, work with layers, erase backgrounds, create photo-illustrations and Web graphics, simulate painting and drawing techniques, and more. Concise, step-by-step instructions and plenty of screenshots help users look up just what they need to know, and once the reader has mastered the software, this book works as a great visual reference.

Of the five how-to manuals for Photoshop Elements that I own (including the official Adobe user guide), this is the one that I reach for first. It is quick and easy to use, detailed when it needs to be, has a very good layout and a pleasing visual aesthetic. This is the book that I've had the most

luck with when I've needed to take one of my Photoshop projects to the next level. Also, since this is not the first of Peachpit Press' Visual Quickstart Guides that I've had a good experience with, especially with this often frustrating arena of computer technology, I will keep the VQG's at the top of my list when shopping for another how-to manual.
