Description

Fiction. Romance. Western. Christian Fiction. HTML: In this seventh installment in the Hannah of Fort Bridger series, twin tragedies set the stage for God's glorious provision. A vicious mountain lion attack leaves beautiful, young rancher Carrie Wright a widow. An outlaw on his way to prison escapes the law long enough to shoot Doug McClain's wife, making him the lonely father of a young daughter. Then heroine Hannah Cooper, newly widowed herself, comforts Carrie with the knowledge that while God's servants will tread through the valley of weeping, they will also keep moving toward another mountaintop. When employment opportunities bring Doug and Carrie together, unexpected sparks fly and finally they can envision a future "beyond the valley." From the Trade Paperback edition..… (more)

You would think by book 7 in a series one might be ready for the series to end; but not in this case. I am still very much enjoying my time at Fort Bridger. I think the theme of this story could be summed up in an answer Hannah Cooper gave to her daughter when she questioned the death of a loved

one: "We just have to trust Him and believe He never makes a mistake. Even if we don't understand the things God causes or allows, we have to love Him and serve Him because He so loves us and has a perfect plan for our lives". Well said Hannah. When tragedy hits people they will find themselves 'in the valley' of grief, but God always goes before us and will get us 'beyond the valley' and headed towards the next mountain top.

In this story journalist Adam Cooper and his friend Doug McClain and their families are moving out to Fort Bridger to follow their dream to open a newspaper office. Hannah and her children are excited to have family move closer. In Fort Bridger there will be sadness over the loss of a good man and husband to a strong frontier woman, who takes this harsh tragedy and looks forward to God bringing her through this trial.

I really appreciate how this author is not afraid to give the gospel and weave it into these stories in such a natural way. There are so many good stories going on in each book, and I find myself wishing I could visit these folks at Fort Bridger. One more book to go!
