When folks think about Dr. Seuss, the first thing that typically comes to mind are colorful images and fun, often newly-created creatures. The second thing that is just as important are his messages that many can recite one, two or more two from heart. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful

lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” and “A person’s a person, no matter how small.” are mine. This book provides some of the best quotes from his books presented on pages with art from the associated books and the theme/message/lesson. It’s a pleasure to re-read those that I knew and happy to see them included. It’s also a pleasure to read several from books that I’ve never read. The book starts and ends with quotes from “Oh, the Place You’ll Go!” which aligns with the books’ title. Definitely a buy for fans of Dr. Seuss. It’s also good for someone who wants to own only one Dr. Seuss book; all his best lessons are here.

Every one or two pages of this book has an independent poem with it's own title, and references which Dr. Seuss book it was from. What all the poems have in common is that it offers good advice about life. This children's picture book is a good example of the poetry genre in the form of lyric poems

or limericks because it is a collection of poems that rhyme, and are humorous.
