Media reviews

This is something of an overwhelming read. Plot points from all the books so far are incorporated, and the mythology of the entire series underlies it all.

Our heroine's heritage has come back to haunt her, and the amount of trouble that ensues involves armies. Some of which arrive on dirigibles and some of which ride giant spiders. Even the most extreme magical mad-science talents in this world aren't enough to trump that amount of forces, and

characters still need to get by on their wits.

Love Girl Genius - I've been reading them online for quite a while, finally got the books (some of them - there's a couple volumes out that I don't have yet). The story flows nicely between volumes, but I think I can distinguish between them (as I can't for some, like Modesty Blaise). Again, rich.

The rescue, and Agatha changing - and finding out, again, more about herself. Her locket finally shows up again, too, just in time. And some great scenes in the middle - the oubliette, and a lot of the Jagerkin's dialog and the responses thereto ('I can honestly say I've never heard that before!'). Tarvek switching in all directions. And did the device malfunction or did he change it or did she - no, that would make no sense...unless the Other did it...puzzle. Lovely. Now I want the rest - need to go read it online until I can afford to buy the rest of the books. girlgenius.com - go see!

This is the 6th book in the Girl Genius series. Agatha has been possessed by her mother, both are fighting to take control of her body. Agatha's friends from the circus are trying to save her. The Baron discovers where she is and deploys the whole fleet to capture her. An incredibly fun story with

action, laughs and a bit of seriousness thrown in. This is also one of the longer books in the series.

Girl Genius is a web comic about a mad scientists who seem to be able to break the laws of physics, and it all happens in a gaslight/steampunkish universe. Great art, great story and lots of fun.

This is the sixth TP in the Girl Genius series. I continues to really enjoy this series. It’s been a lot of fun to read and always has me laughing out loud. I really enjoy the complex story and the crazy cast of characters. Just FYI this review may contain spoilers if you haven’t read the
Show More
previous books in the series.

Agatha has been possessed by the evil Lucrezia who is responsible for the Long War. Agatha is trying to fight the possession, but it is a losing battle. Meanwhile the Wulfenbachs have found out that Agatha is still alive and come to apprehend her. It’s a crazy mix-up because we don’t know who is loyal to Agatha and who is loyal to Lucrezia. People are also confused about the fact that Agatha is not actually Agatha. While all of this craziness ensues, Agatha’s friends from the Circus are trying to break into the castle to rescue her.

These are getting harder and harder to review. There is a huge cast of characters and the story has gotten increasingly complicated. The book switches between 3-4 different groups of characters and storylines. Still, it was never hard to follow and the story is incredibly interesting.

I continue to enjoy the large cast of very quirky characters. Agatha still features in the story a lot. We learn a lot in this volume about how Agatha can use her voice to control things. We also get to see her do a lot of inventing and finally found out what all those Klanks she made are going to be used for.

Krosp, the Emperor of Cats, continues to be the character that cracks me up the most. That being said all of the characters are highly entertaining.

The drawings are well done, they very brightly colored and they do an excellent job of showing action and character emotion. I was never confused by what was going on, the illustration really does add a lot of the story.

There a funny short at the end of the book where Agatha has to solve a mystery involving her socks. The whole thing is very tongue in cheek and funny.

Overall another wonderful installment in the Girl Genius series. The plot is masterfully done and I continue to enjoy all of the action, adventure, intrigue, steampunk elements and quirky characters. Highly recommended, especially if you are a fan of steampunk/humor graphic novels.

I enjoyed reading the first Girl Genius volume and so picked this one up. A great deal had happened since the first volume, not surprisingly, but I was able to enjoy the full colour steampunk silliness of Agatha Heterodyne's world. I look forward to catching up on the intermediate and subsequent

volumes.
