Gonick is excellent at disseminating information in the most painless way. This is an excellent introduction or a fun review.

This book saved me in my first physics class. I have no talent for mechanics whatsoever, but this lays forth all the key equations in a clear and comprehensible way, and in enough depth to carry you through a decent high school class, at least.

I reviewed the corresponding Guide to Chemistry for the Journal of Chemical Education, and that review gets as many hits as anything I have written. The Physics guide is also very amusing and also contains good science.
