When Megan's army parents go to Korea for her junior year, Megan decides to stay with the family friend. The McGowans have SEVEN sons, ranging from the extremely hot and popular senior Evan to the littlest troublemaker and everything in between. The boys have never had a girl live with them before,
Show More
and it sure disrupts their lives. Pranks, teasing, and freeze-outs occur, but Megan also discovers that boys can be nice and sensitive too--when they feel like it.
On the soccer team, Megan clashes with Hailey, Evan's girlfriend and best player on the team. In addition, slacker Doug seems to have it out for her, Megan wants to figure out how to get through to Miller, who has Asperger's Syndrome, and Finn, the artistic junior, is beginning to puzzle her.
Through all the teenage drama and sometimes unbelievable moments, Megan remains a heroine anyone can cheer for.

This is not a new book, but I was led to it by reading Lucky T and the Princess and the Pauper by the same author.
Megan's parents are in the military, and she is accustomed to moving - frequently. When they announce that they are moving, yet again, Megan puts her foot down so she can stay in the
Show More
States to finish her last two years of high school. Friends of her parents, the McGowan's, have seven sons, but insist that they also have room for Megan, if she wants to stay with them. Megan agrees, and in the process, learns a LOT about what boys are really like. She emails her best friend regular updates which include her observations on the boys based on her daily life experiences. This is a fun. light book which girls who like real life drama kinds of books will eat up.

Once you start reading this book, you can't stop. It shows you what it would feel like moving in with a bunch of guys. It has comeday, romance and action, so that's why I liked it.

Kate Brian makes a very likable character in Megan Meade. You immediately feel for her when she is plunged into a household of 7 boys, half of them being around her age. I cracked up a lot in the beginning thinking "what parents would really let their daughter move in with a family of boys,
Show More
anyway?" but then I got swept up in the drama of the McGowan household and quickly forgot about the fact that the entire plot is fairly ridiculous.

When Megan first arrives, she gets tongue-tied and has a lot of problems with being able to speak up around everyone, especially the oldest of the boys, Evan. As the book progresses, she realizes that she does, in fact, know how to stand up for herself and her character becomes a lot stronger. She also comes to realize that appearances can be deceiving and that she might be paying attention to the wrong brother.

One of my favorite parts of the book were Megan's efforts to bond with Miller, who has Asperger's Syndrome. The way she helped him learn to be more comfortable in social situations was very sweet. She also, without really directly trying, manages to knock some sense into Doug, Miller's twin brother who had a lot of issues with acting out. Like the family ends up learning, who knew they needed a sister?

My one massive complaint with the book is that the ending is waaaay too abrupt. I mean, when I read a YA novel like this one, I expect to get my happy ending. While I'm not saying that it doesn't end happy, I am saying it cuts off far too quickly. In fact, that's exactly what happens: the story seems to just cut off.

Despite that, you do get the gist of how things end with the story, and it is a cute, quick read...so definitely pick it up if it seems like your cup of tea!

Megan Meade has grown up as an Army brat following her parents wherever the job takes them. Things are about to change. This time Megan isn't going with them. She is staying with the long time family friends the McGowans. Growing up as an only child has not prepared her for what is next... living
Show More
with 7 boys. Things are about to get a little more interesting in Megan's life and the McGowan household.

I absolutely loved this book! Call me crazy but what teen girl wouldn't wonder what it's like to live with all of those hot guys? This book is filled with teen romance, heartbreak, personal growth, and shows you things aren't always what they seem.

I would have given this book 5 stars if it wasn't for the ending. I really did not care at all for the ending. It was rushed and I didn't like the aspect of the partial cliffhanger :(

This book tells an interesting story about a athletic girl who knows absolutely nothing about boys and she gets placed in a home with seven boys. I read this book because me teacher recommended it.

I read this book in less than a day. It was fantastic! The author's voice was awesome, very teen. And I loved the boys! The only thing I would change is that the ending felt a little rushed. I wanted a bit more resolution, some conversations with the boys (I won't say which boys in particular
Show More
because I don't want to post spoilers!).

All in all, a really fun read. Going on the favorites list!

My teenage sister recommended I read this; so in good form and fashion, I did. While it is written about teenagers, high school students mostly, I would only recommend this book for very mature young people. The sexual content and bad language are over the top. Good plot overall but it is
Show More
overshadowed by all the junk. Rating - 3 stars due to bad language and sexual content too mature for the recommended reading age

Kate Brian is the Queen of really cute stories that make you all mushy on the inside and smile the whole time. A nice, light, fluffy read; the boys drove Meg crazy with their pranks and by picking on her all day long but she kept her head on her shoulders and knew how to behave and wouldn't let
Show More
others step on her. She's a kind, sweet and big-hearted girl and her guide was really funny and sometimes very useful!
