A murder has been committed in Tyleville and the first juvenile juror is on the jury. This novel discusses how the juror finds out who is guilty amid corruption using unique methods. This novel is told by letters, postcards and receipts, not in the ordinary style. Students could read this novel and

then try to write their own short stories in a similar fashion.

A children's book (a graphic novel? a picture book?) by the same team of author and illustrator who wrote Regarding the Fountain, Trial by Journal is the story of a twelve-year-old who is chosen for a jury and is asked by her teacher to keep a journal of the experience. Like Regarding the Fountain,

the charm of the book is as much in the clever way the illustrator uses pictures to add depth to the text of the story as it is in the story itself .

I loved this book as a child and I still think it's just brilliant. It is full of atrocious puns and crazy plot lines and I just love it. I think this book is out of print but if you can get your hands on it for you or your children I highly recommend it!
