A reread for me. I enjoyed the book at first but, having read this previously, I ended up skimming parts. One thing I’ve noticed when re-reading some of this author’s books is they are very much of their time regarding the violence especially pertaining to women, not that it doesn’t portray
Show More
women as strong independent characters. Perhaps this was the author’s intention at the time. Sadly, I seem to find some violence a second time around off-putting, and while the plot of this book seems mysteriously enticing, it’s one I resolved early in the read so the end presented few surprises. There are many better novels from Koontz.

scariest page turner - a classic by the master of mystery/thrillers. you cannot figure out the twists and you can't put it down. Don't read this while home alone.

One of Koontz's darkest novels ever, almost everyone in the book has a dark and twisted past including the villian which i found to be very unique about a Koontz novel. Also the mystery really does a good job of keeping you guessing until the very end of the book. The book really plucks at your
Show More
heart at certain points even creating a lot of sympathy for the villian, a very emotional, gripping novel. Not the best Koontz book ever, but definitly a classic favorate, one of his better novels to date.

Crazy Guy tries to rape & murder a screen writer. She enlists the help of a cop & they go after him. There are twins. She kills one who attacks her again. They track down the other together.

The start is a little rocky but Koontz eventually finds his stride. This book gives a nice and unexpected twist to a pretty common plot device and ends with an unforgettable scene that is sure to give every reader the creeps.

Whispers is a crime mystery novel that involves adult characters that have experienced child abuse. I got an eerie feeling throughout most of the book maybe because the story seems realistic. It's a balanced book because it also involves some romance and friendship (which I think it brings beauty
Show More
in the midst of darkness). I may be biased in saying this is a must read horror novel because I enjoy Dean Koontz writing a lot.

This book does fairly well on the creep-factor, but it's not a very exciting story.

very scary dean koontz, this book made it all too real that stalkers and phycopaths can be out there, and home may not be as safe as you think, one of his first , and best.

Liked this alright. Not Koontz's best work, but still enjoyable to listen to.

I thought this book was okay. It's what I look for when I turn to Koontz, an easy read. Your eyes just casually go over the words and it's not stressful or requiring of much memory or thought.

This one was about a woman named Hilary Thomas who was being stalked by a man named Frye who thought Hilary
Show More
was the reincarnation of his mother.

Not bad, not stellar.

What is it that keeps on killing? I won't tell the secret. But, it takes a lot of suspense to find out. Some of the violence is up close and personal. The sex is erotic and the characters well developed. Where's my next Koontz book?

Truly creepy book with a surprise twist at the end...

Yet again, another good story by Koontz. I like the way he weaves a little romance into a very unromantic plot line. I find his characters to be well-written and there is enough basis in reality to keep the book from approaching the supernatural. I especially liked the way he drew the villain of
Show More
the piece so that even when the reader hated him, there still was a tug of compassion.

A beautiful screenwriter, Hilary Thomas, is confronted in her own home by an intruder named Bruno Frye. It seems that Mr. Frye has been stalking Ms. Thomas in the belief that Ms. Thomas is his long deceased mother, Katherine, who has ostensibly come back from the dead in order to kill him. He feels
Show More
that he must kill her, before she kills him.

This is one of Dean Koontz really good early efforts. Readers who enjoy suspenseful novels will not be disappointed.

Standard Dean Koontz craziness. Hillary keeps seeing the man that terrrorized her but how is that possible since she knows he is dead or is he?

I really enjoy Dean Koontz books. This one is ok, but it really doesn't compete with so many of his others. Watchers is amazing., try that one!
