Lilly's teacher is getting married and she is sure that she is going to be asked to be the flower girl. Instead Mr. Singer's niece is picked. To console her, Mr. Singer asks her to be the assistant to the flower girl. In the end, Lilly saves the day when the niece freezes in the spotlight. Of

course the quality of the illustration in these books is always superb and the stories are great and perfect for little kids.

Sofi loves Lilly, though I find her quite annoying. I also thought the teacher allowing Lilly a role in his wedding, despite his concern over the other students' possible jealousy, reprehensible!

Lilly is so excited to hear that her teacher, Mr. Slinger, is going to get married. Lilly is sure that she'll be Mr. Slinger's flower girl. However, when Mr. Slinger finally breaks the news to Lilly that he already has a niece as his flower girl, Lilly is devastated. She's given the job of 'coach'

for Mr. Slinger's niece and she doesn't realize how important this job will be.

This book is about Lily and her teacher is marrying another teacher in the school. Lilly decides she wants to be the flower girl so she practices for it. Her mom warns her that maybe the teacher wants his neice to do it. Turns out he does so Lilly gets jealous. The teacher compromises with Lilly

and lets her be the flower girl helper (make sure her dress is straight, tell her when to go). On the day of the wedding the flower girl freezes so Lilly carries her down the aisle. At the reception Lilly teaches the flower girl how to be a flower girl and the two become friends. I like this book because it has simple words but a good story line.

Mr. Slinger, he tells her that his niece, Ginger, will be the flowergirl. Lilly's heart is broken. On the day of the wedding, Ginger gets nervous and freezes up when she is supposed to walk down the isle. Lilly helps Ginger overcome her nervousness and she realizes that she is a big helper.
I would recommend this book to elementary teachers when they are teaching about responsiblilty.

her down the isle. This showed how responsible Lilly was and even though she wasn't the flower girl she helped out in a bigger way. This book can show children how to be responsible even when they are not doing the job they think is ideal.

This is such a cute picture book that tells an important lesson about assumptions, envy, and sharing. Lilly is so excited when her teacher announces that he is getting married that all she can think about it how she will make the most beautiful flower girl! Lilly's world is turned upside down when

her teacher says that his neice is going to be his flower girl and not Lilly. This was hard for her to understand so she became envious of the little neice. In the end, Lilly does get to be part of the wedding becasue the neice gets stage freight. Lilly realizes that she shouldn't have assumed the she would be the flower girl, she shouldn't have been envious of the neice, and that sharing is the best way to do everything!

When the moment finally arrives, Ginger freezes and Lilly knows what she has to do. She ends up carrying Ginger down the aisle and saves the day. All of the usual characters, Julius, Victor, Wilson, Mr. Slinger, etc. are all in this very sweet book.

Lilly really wanted to be a flower girl for her teacher's wedding, snooty enough about it that I was turned off by the story at first. I even thought the teacher rewarded Lilly's petulance. But I loved the last part of the story, so cute! I was pleasantly surprised to like it at the end, so it gets

four stars.
