In my opinion, this is a good book. I liked this book for two reasons. First, I liked that the language was patterned. The author used rhyming words on every page such as, “The seasonal kind has months that are dry. A cloud rain forest sits three thousand feet high.” The language used made the

book more fun and easy to follow along. The second reason I liked this book is because of the illustrations. The illustrations enhance the story and provide greater detail towards the text. Part of the text says, “It keeps rain and sun off the floors down below. It’s also the place where the epiphytes grow.” Along with this text, there is an illustration of large, thick trees with vines, roots and plants that creates a sense of what epiphytes are. The big idea of this story was to show what a tropical rain forest is through dialogue and pictures.
