Description
In 1930s Algeria, a cat belonging to a widowed rabbi and his daughter, Zlabya, eats the family parrot and gains the ability to speak. Unfortunately, the cat begins to tell lies (the first being that he didn't eat the parrot). The rabbi vows to educate the cat in the ways of the Torah, but the cat has different ideas and gets involved in all sorts of human problems.
