This book is about a kid who moves from California to Detroit becuase his father has cancer and can no longer work. The family doesn't have any money to play for the treatment . The main character is a good rapper, too. This book was interesting and never boring which is why I liked it so much.

Blood is Thicker moves at an engaging pace through the changing events in Hakeem's life, yet the story still manages to take enough time unveiling the inner, emotional turmoil of its main character. I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series.

This book is about a young boy name Hakeem Randall. Hakeem finds out that his father is sick and that means he needs to leave work. Without his father working, his parents could no longer afford their home. Then Hakeem finds out that they need to move with his uncle in faraway Detroit. The move

away made Hakeem leave all his friends at Bluford High. Hakeem then needs to share a bedroom with his moody,secrative cousin, Savon. Hakeem and Savon once were chidhood best friends but now they were grown apart and now they are headed for big confrontation, which makes their lives change for ever.
