Just as the grandmother said in the story to her granddaughter, Little Red, the main idea of the story is "you gotta stick up for yourself." Although the wolf appeared twice to Little Red, she did not hesitate and run away in the face of fear. Rather she was polite and talked to the wolf until she

felt uncomfortable. This can be related to children who are picked on or bullied. This story can help them realize that they are strong and powerful even to their greatest enemies! But when they need help they can always rely on a family member, teacher, or friend to help out, just as Little Red's grandma jumped in to help her.
