This biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is beautifully compiled for the young reader. The mixture of real-life pictures of Mozart intertwined with comic strip pictures allows the reader to relate personally with a man that lived more than 100 prior to this books publication. This biography spans

from the birth of Mozart, his early accomplishments, family, youth, marriage, children, his sudden death at age 35 to the importantance his music and legacy has played in todays music.
I have been enrolled into the Music Appreciation class at Cameron University and have found this book so straight-forward and to the point on Mozarts life. I have grown to appreciate the life and tlent of such a man with such expectation placed on him by everyone around him.
As a classroon extension, I would ask the children to find any literature on their favorite singer, song-writer, or composer. Then ask them to write a report and share what that think makes this person great in their eyes. What they admire about this artist? In what ways would they want to be like this artist? What would they change about this artist? Another extension would be to allow the children bring examples of that artists work and share.
