Emmett had run a long time ago from his despotic Alpha father and his cruel step-brother. He didn’t want to be the Alpha, and he spent eleven long years hiding from the pack. Then the Alpha was gone, and the only way of Emmett being able to let go of the pack forever was returning and deliberately losing the Alpha challenge.
