This book is a poetic book in that it rhymes. It has simple words in it like up, all, and red and their rhyming words pup, fall, and bed. The illustrations go along with the rhyme being made.

I really liked this book and I think it is a good book for children to learn how to rhyme and learn how
Show More
poems are made. The illustrations are very good and brightly colored that draw the reader in. Also, it isn’t that long of a book so it is pretty easy to get through.

In the classroom, I would use the rhyming words in this book to make a classroom poem. I would put the words up on the board with their rhyming words and give each student one or two of the words and have them write a sentence using them. Before they write their sentences, as a class we will pick a topic to make our poem about.

This book is funny because of all the rhyming words. It would be good for younger kids because the words aren't very long and it could teach them about ryhming. It would be fun to have kids come up with their own words that rhyme.

"Hop on Pop" is another one of Dr. Seuss's silly books for very young children. It is a collection of strange off the wall rhymes filled with Dr. Seuss's signature illustrations.

I like to read this book to my kids. They think it is cute.

For the classroom, I would ask my students if they could

think of any other rhymes that could be added to this book.

This book discusses the many ways of getting to know more words. Children who read this book will have no problem getting the rhyming pattern down and will then be able to read all the words by just the sound. This book is a great beginner book. There really is not a specific plot in book or
Show More
charecter there are many different. This book mainly focuses on the variety of ways in teaching children to read.
An extention idea for this book would be just reading to the children aloud and discussing what happened in the book.

This story is a great tool to use when teaching the rudiments of reading. Simple rhyming words, like PUP and UP, are lined up one over the other, so that readers see that "up" is also in the word "pup." There are silly illustrations that will entertain any young child.

I LOVE Dr. Seuss and I love this book! Its a great book to teach to early readers, and help show them rhyming words with added humor. Dr. Seuss always does such a great job with the illustrations and the story really keeps kids engaged and is not very wordy, so its definitely a book they can begin

to read by themselves.

This book was taking rhyming words and putting it into sentences. For example, it says "ALL BALL. We all play ball. BALL WALL. Up on a wall. ALL FALL. Fall off the wall". It didn't have much of a story line and it was pretty long. This is a book for beginning readers like kindergarten and 1st
Show More
grade, but it was long so it may not hold their attention for a long time if they aren't interested in reading. This picture book is a short story.
