Description

Here is a wealth of Bible research and point-by-point logic to answer 65 of the toughest questions asked by skeptics - and to show precisely why Christianity stands up to even the toughest scrutiny. For more than 20 years, Josh McDowell has been one of America's most powerful and persuasive defenders of the Christian faith. An important resource for any apologetics class.

This is pretty much standard fare. I always enjoy these books, mainly to re-enforce and learn new ways to express old truths. Josh McDowell has always caught my attention with his writings.

I first read through this when I was about twelve years old. For a young man who grew up in a Christian household, but intelligent, it was a good book to strengthen my Christian convictions in a secular society and secular school system that is inclined to denigrate and erode Christian faith.

Reading it again thirty years later, I again think it would help those young people and adults who are already inclined to Christianity and need some succor and proofs. It probably won't convince a dyed-in-the-wool atheist. Many of the arguments are weak because they are circular, or rest on "well here the Bible is true, so it should be true elsewhere." Well, some of these arguments won't convince someone who doesn't want to be convinced of the first part of that syllogism, so they won't accept the rest of the syllogism. Written for a pretty wide audience, more scholarship is elsewhere. Still, an interesting bit from my childhood and a good book.
