Description
The playwright David Mamet's first novel features a remote New England community full of dark undercurrents and brooding silences. The village emerges as a place of complexity and mystery, humour and strength - and becomes as much of a character as the individuals who inhabit it.

Pretentious and boring. Mamet's dialogue is good, but his characters are no more than cliches. He should've done more research for this book than watching Fargo.
