An odd mixture of items, with the only thing linking them being the inclusion of a number. Some of it is really quite readable and interesting. Some of it is less so. Okay for picking up and browsing.

An intriguing, curious collection of cultural lists such as "the seven wonders of the world" and "the twelve labors of Heracles". Just the sort of book to dip into when in bed with a cold, or otherwise in need of a mildly taxing diversion that engages the mind but doesn't make one think too much.
