After her first trip to a beauty parlor Junie decides she wants to work there, and she practices on her bunny slippers, her dog, and herself with disastrous results. I like this book because it reminds me of the time I cut my hair when I was four years old and how mad my mom was.

This is a good book for any age. It teaches students that if you want something bad enough you need to practice to get better at it. However, in this book it also shows that you need to be careful with how you practice and need to make sure that it is not harmful and that there can be something

else you can do or need to wait till a later time.

Junie B. Jones is a Hair Shop Guy is a very funny book. I have read one other Junie B. Jones book and I wanted to read another one to see if it was as entertaining and as the first one. Junie B. Jones is a great series that can help keep children interested in reading. Although there is not correct

and proper English in this book, it is a great read for children. I enjoyed the plot of the story because they made this little girl very relatable in terms of how children actually think. For instance, when she heard that she need lots of practice, she thought that cutting hair a few times, made her a professional. And when you think about it a child might actually think like that. This book also teaches children that if they want something back that they need a lot of practice to get it. Overall, I loved this book and would recommend this book to a child that is trying to get involved with reading. A parent can read this to a child that is younger but 2nd or 3rd grader would be able to read this book on their own and be able to understand it.

I loved reading Junie B. Jones when I was younger. These early chapter books are timeless. A good one to read individually.

In my opinion “Junie B Jones is a Beauty Shop Guy” by Barbara Park is a fun book for young students to read. This book is relatable to young students because it shows the large imagination that children have. For example, June B. Jones quickly decides she wants to be a beautician after she

admires her father get a haircut in a cool chair with fascinating tools. Children at this age often talk about what they want to be when they grow up because of experiences they have, which is why they will have fun reading this story. While this book is humorous, this book pushes young readers to think about asking for help in a time of need. Readers are able to see that Junie B. Jones should have asked her parents for a haircut instead of giving herself one. The main message is to always ask for help in times of need.

Growing up I always enjoyed reading about Junie B. Jones and her crazy new adventures. Looking about this one was my favorite book. I'm a cosmetologist and the way how Junie practices her beauty shop skills to become a "beauty shop guy" on her bunny slippers, her dog, and herself which makes

disastrous results. Junie B. Jones quickly decides she wants to be a beautician after she admires her father get a haircut in a cool chair with fascinating tools. People ask children at this age what they want to be when they grow up and Junie B. response was to be a "beauty shop guy" which makes a good read.

Junie B. Jones is learning about beauty and she wants her hair to look her best. She decides to cut her own hair but her hair turns out not so great. In the book you get to learn about all the things one goes through when there is a bad hair cut.

Junie B. Jones is so funny. Her books were meant to be readers, but they could also be funny as a read aloud for young children.

A great transitional book for readers ready for more of a challenge but not ready to jump straight to longer chapter books.

This is the first Junie B. Jones book I have read, but it will not be the last. "Junie B. Jones is a Barber Shop Guy," is wonderful. This book had be laughing out loud at her antics. What I liked most about his book is the reliability. It was relatable in terms of Jones's speech, as well as her
Show More
antics. In this particular book Jones practices being a barber on her dog, as well as herself. I remember when I was younger and I tried to cut my own hair for the first time. I felt just as Junie felt. The first time she looks in the mirror she thought, "That's how come I started to cry. 'Cause sprigs are shortie little sticklets. And they are not attractibe, I tell you." If I had to vocalize how I felt when I cut my own hair when I was six, this is exactly how I felt. Junie only kind of learned her lesson by the end of the book, which is exactly how someone her age would react. Junie does have horrible grammar, but that is part of the charm of this book. She talks and thinks just as a girl her age would. For example, it is completely believable that a child would say "After that, I twirled and twirled all over the kitchen. Only too bad for me...'Cause I accidently twirled into the refrigerator and the stove and the dishwasher." That sounds like a little girl to me. The man idea of this book is entertain the reader with the antics of one Junie B. Jones.

After a trip to the Beauty Shop, Junie is inspired to become a beautician, so she starts cutting the hair off things. First her fuzzy bunny slippers get a trim, then her bear gets a shampoo, and then her dog gets a major trim. Finally she has her biggest inspiration: she will cut her own hair! The

result is a disaster that leads to a day in school hidden by a hat and a new haircut at the salon.
