This is the second in a series, and it is very funny. Two dogs live next door to each other, and their misunderstandings of the world get them into a lot of funny trouble. All they want to do is take care of their owners, but their owners seem to keep getting in the way – like when the owners are

painting a house, and leave their ladders and paintbrushes “behind” and the dogs can’t understand why the owners don’t want the paintbrushes back. This book has quick chapters with illustrations to help translate Down Girl & Sit’s understanding of the world. Even non-dog owners will appreciate it.

Down Girl and Sit are friends and enjoy training their humans as well as keeping Here Kitty Kitty away from their yard. This imaginative story is told from the perspective of 2 dogs who can’t help but get into trouble. Readers will be tested by the different perspective but ultimately will enjoy

the misunderstandings such as when Down Girl and Sit take the pizza off the table and then get confused when their owners don’t want to eat it anymore. Full-page illustrations and short, succinct chapters will help the beginning reader gain context and not be overwhelmed. Pick up this book for a fun look at life from a dog’s perspective and see why dogs may just be better than cats.
